Learn new technologies in IT field

Learn new technologies in IT field

Technology is change day by day.As software Engineering student we need to learn  new things surrounding  in IT field...we had workshop about "EMERGING TECHNOLOGY TRENDS" by Mr.Srinath Perera VP Research at WSO2.

First  Mr.Srinath Perera  teach about current technology and emerging technology. actually before this session , i had not clear idea about emerging technology...but now i know what are the emerging technology.

What is Emerging technology?

As example
  •  Blockchain
  •  Sharing Economy
  •  AV/AR
  •  Quantum Computing
  •  3D Printing

                                                         what is Blockchain?

The blockchain is an incorruptible digital ledger of economic transactions that can be programmed to record not just financial transactions but virtually everything of value.

                                                     what is Sharing Economy?

Sharing economy is an umbrella term with a range of meanings, often used to describe economic activity involving online transactions.

Originally growing out of the open-source community to refer to peer-to-peer based sharing of access to goods and services, the term is now sometimes used in a broader sense to describe any sales transactions that are done via online market places, even ones that are business to business , rather than peer-to-peer.

                        what is Quantum Computing?

Quantum computing is computing using quantum-mechanical phenomena, such as superposition and entanglement

finally they gave pen for us. thank you  Srinath Sir and Sarasi Madam.

How to face an interview

                                       How to face an interview

How to face to an interview in 04 steps.

Face to an interview is not a hard thing to do if you can follow these easy steps.

 Step 01.

Introduce yourself with confidence The first and foremost thing you have to do is is to face the interview with a good confidence. Don't make your self anxious when you walk into the room, stand tall, make eye contact , put a smile on your face and give your interviewers a firm, confident handshake when you introduce yourself.

Step 02.

Prepare to answer common questions Even though you are face to any kind of interview there are some certain questions that many interviewers commonly ask. Therefore it is good to prepare answer for those questions . Eg. What are your weaknesses? What are your strengths?

Step 03.

Prepare to ask at least two questions In some interviews your potential employers will ask if you have any questions you want to ask them. If you smile and say that you have no questions that makes it look like you don't care about the position all that much so you should prepare at least few questions and ask more related questions.

Step 04.

Prepare to bring all you need Prepare all the stuffs you need for the interview that day before you go to the interview. Don't forget to bring your resume and cover letter to use as a reference also other additional materials that you think will be needed.

Story making

                                                           Story making

First  we were divided  in to three groups .each group there were nearly about 5 members.then miss gave one marker pen for each group and she told us to make a story.then one by one went to the board and he or she has to write a word on the board to make the story.it is difficult to make the story  because we did not know what is the word or what is the story before.there were 4 rounds for one member in each group.at last we got a story without a meaning but with a joyful story.......

we learnt from that session  there should be a good communication within team members.also there should be team spirit when we engage in team work.

Paper Rockets

                                                         Paper Rockets

First  we were divided  in to two groups then for each of our groups equal number of A4 sheets were given 6 A4 sheets per one group.

then there were two lines which was marked and what we have to do was we had to make paper rockets as much as we can which they can fly pass thought those marked line.

In our team we made 36 paper rockets and nearly all of them flyed passed through those line.

From this activity we learned so many things like to get the maximum use of what we had to reach our target and taking the use of every piece, thing we had  making paper rockets fly through the line.team spirit ,punctuality & so on.

Looks Back

                                                                Looks Back

During the year, we had many ppd sessions weekly and we had done many group activities in order to develop our personal progress. As this episode of my blog is the last episode of the year, I would like to look back for past days and check whether we had developed our soft skills as we hoped at the beginning.

According my point of view, in these sessions we had gain new memories and we had build a strong bong among batch mates. We cared and listen to each other. We shared knowledge and we limited resources. Whatever  we do, whenever  we do, our lecturer always there with us. We are very much thankful to her for her great effort and for her courage.

In every week, we had a new experience. ( Lava River, Paper Tower, Egg Protector, Cultural Show,....) week by week, without our concern, we had improve our skills to work in a proper manner.

Most interesting moment of the ppd session was out bound training program in navy camp trincomalee. In that beautiful environment we had our most unforgettable ppd session. Working with a group is more difficult than working alone. But alone we can do a little; together we can do so much

Being motivated and inspired we can achieve all the goals    effectively as well as efficiently. Integrity , sense of responsibility, discipline,  sense of group work are few major work ethics that we learnt.

Student Organized And Went on an interest field trip our crew was consisting about 70 students
& 3 lectures Altogether we went to Trincomale Navy Camp.

Trincomalea is a port city on the north east coast set on a peninsula.

DAY 01

At 3.30 am in the morning we Started our journey from the university and there we two buses . Travelling with friends gave us an enjoyable experience from the beginning of the trip. After some time we reached a big lake Situated in kandalai .It was a place with beautifully scenery and we take lot of photographs there.

After continuing our trip nearly at 10.30 am we reached our destination the navy camp. It was a place with well constructed and strictly maintained and good security system and with good facilities. There were separate accommodation for girls and boys. After being there for some time then we again started to continue our program activities. then we had our lunch. After having our lunch an Officer gave a short speech and finally we reach beach to continue our activities.

Activity 02

As the Second activity we had to select 8 from our group without the leader with the leader it was 9.
what we had to do was they gave us a small PVC plastic and the leader stay front and wants to put
the marble into the first person PVC when the marble touch the PVC only the next person want
to touch his PVC with the other one's.like that the group wants to pass the marble to the boundary line.we did it within a short period of time.

Activity 03

The officer gave us a little bit big plastic tube. The two ends of it were opened and also there were many holes in that tube they asked us to fill the water by taking from sea. we Asked kishanth to remove his t-shirt and then he lay down and we kept the tube  on his stomach and we hurry and brought water to fill the tube from our hands and mouth and quickly fill the tube.

Activity 04

To do this activity 10 people from each group in a row and gave us bricks and every one wants to keep the brick in their stomach and the person who in front wants to keep that brick without falling by pushing it with his back and also other rule was every one wants to keep hands on the back side of the head then the group asked to move to the boundary which was kept by the officers without falling down then the team wanted to start from the beginning .But here we were  unable to do it.

After we had a fire camp Session around 7 p.m.

  • Time management
  • how to work as a team
  • how to face unexpected situation
  • How to maintain a good communication.

Barter Puzzle

Fun Way Of Sharing And Achieving Goals

Last PPD Session Was One of the most interesting Session I had.All of us had been divided in to three groups and to each of our group a picture was given and we hall had to remember that Specific picture in our mind.

Then the group lead had to tear it in to 100 pieces. Then Miss Sarasi took 10 pieces from the above mentioned 100 pieces from each of our group and mixed them all together. Then our Goal was to complete this picture as fast as we can.

Each of our team had to come up with a way to get those pieces back - either through negotiating, trading, exchanging team members etc.

So as the first step we tried to select what are the pieces we exactly want and not . Then we try to exchange unnecessary picture pieces with other group to get the pieces we want. Then finally within
a limited time we were able to achieve what we had  to achieve but unfortunately none of our team couldn't do it 100% correctly.
