When i came in university , i haven't any idea about PPD subject...but now I think this subject is important for us. because this subject is build  soft skills of each student.it is most important for software engineer.  

when i consider 1st and 2nd year, we did number of activity. like paper tower,Team work, egg protection,barter puzzle, Outward Bound Training Programme,Paper Rockets,Story making.....etc


we had to 2 session organize by WSO2, it is most important for us as programmer. and also Outward Bound Training Programme in Trincomale Navy Camp is most important as a student.and also other activitys is important as Software engineer undergraduate student.   

actually ppd is very important in this course.Through this activity  we gained lot of things to our life. a Thanks sarasi miss for  making out mistakes in the past and win our future. This subject will always in our mind......

In this session is most important for us. Because we create a our cv in this session.it is most important for when we apply for job.  


How to create CV?

• if you use word for create CV, it is good.
• Do not mix font style.
• keep the Emile as hyper Link
• highlight the heeding with different font size
• document should be able to copy and past

Cv consist with many information

• Photograph should be a professional photograph at the top right corner.
• Personal Details like Name and address, a phone number, and your email address.
• Personal Profile like summarizing the skills and carrier interests
• Skills - Soft skills and technical skills
• Educational Qualifications such as O/Ls , A/Ls , etc
• Work Experiences -include the dates of employment,  job title,  responsibilities, duties and achievements.
• Volunteering, Conferences, Extra curricular activities
• Training - Recent activities first.

In last ppd session, we had to find partner(not a life partner)...then cover the eyes of partner like blind person and other person had to give instruction to the blind  person(partner) about the obstacles, paths, where to turn etc to reach our Task.

Task is white board marker on the path, if some one  put the leg on it, then he or she might fall.the end of the path had  Brick...if some one put the leg on it, then he or she has win.

In this session we learn more things.

• how to communicate with others
• how to give instruction to other person 
• how we can trust other person
• how we take the responsibility of any other person

Someone keeps his or her trust on us, we have a responsibility of protecting it.actually trust is like glass.When it is broken then we can't fully make it.

Self-realization

The ppd which held was about self-realization. Madam Sarasi described about what the self-realization is and what the importance are when we are dealing with society. How people look at abut our behavior, gestures and pattern of living can be define as self-realization. When interacting with people in the society self-realization a must thing. When we live in the society we have to deal with different types of people. So self-realization is very essential when we interact with other people and living together with them. Also it is very useful when we are living together as we can’t get more knowledge about others and their attitudes.

                                                          I divide self-realization as two aspects. That is as private life and a life related with others. Accordingly in my life self-realization effects to me in two different aspects which is in my private life I don’t think about the self-realization. In my life I work according to my own thoughts and follows my own style. As in our private life we take decisions based on what others thinking patterns we cant do what  we want as if the society rejects it. Also if we got wrong they ignore us. But in an instance if we got correct all others are behind us. According to that reasons I don’t think about self-realization. I think my own style and take decision s according to my own choices and what I do what I think which is correct. But in my life there are some incidents which was right and wrong both.

                                                          Even though in my work according to my own decisions in my life but when I work with others I’m a very different person as when dealing with others I think that all others are differ than me. But i'm so happy to say in my life I have met people who are so much like me. Every person is differ than the other so when dealing with others we need to adjust our selves according to others and we should respect their ideas and actions. The we can always be happy when we are working with others.

                                          Thant was another ppd session in second year, second semester...First madam grouped us into five group.after madam asked from each member in group,about there expert. after madam ,gave Task for us, it is, we had to create new product, using 3 different experts.

                                         in our group had 6 different experts,then we selected 3 different experts and make a new product.we selected experts is, playing cricket,playing computer games and designing experts.
                                         new product name is cricFest'18.

 this product had some features .it is,

1. super over
2. update new characters
3. elevations
4. unique playing style for each character
5. reviews 

new product had been improved using this features,

1. multiplayer/single player
2. chat room for discuss the strategy

after we presented our new product........

                                how to launch our product appropriate company(stream) to the customer?

1.  we give seasonal promotion to customer 
2.  For the advertising we planned to have advertising campaigns for the promotional offer we give $55 & for the seasonal offers we give $49.

This is our new product.in this session we learn ,"how to create new thing " ....

The date is 12th of  September 2018, we had a workshop  WSO2 on technical writing. WSO2 is one of the best company with good working environment.

Before start the  session , they distributed a diary and pen for us.

then they started the workshop.first they taught us the some basic grammar practices and they gave us 12 sentences that are grammatically wrong & we had to correct those sentences.

then we had  group activity, we were grouped and each group had 5 or 6 student.We had to write the instructions for a user to guide to withdraw Rs.1500 from ATM.after they selected the wining team.then they gave T- shirt for wining team members.

Shehani,Divya,Sachith,Heshani,Sineth,Minoltan were the winning members of that group activity.

Then we got an interval and they gave great refreshments for us. after an interval start the session again. and they did the some fun activity for us.

 We had to select some object and write 4 sentences about that object.then we should present those sentences to the others and other teams had to guess what is the object .

after they gave Ferroro rocher chocolate box for wining team.



At last we took some photographs with them and ended up the session with the vote of thanks.

Technology is change day by day.As software Engineering student we need to learn  new things surrounding  in IT field...we had workshop about "EMERGING TECHNOLOGY TRENDS" by Mr.Srinath Perera VP Research at WSO2.

First  Mr.Srinath Perera  teach about current technology and emerging technology. actually before this session , i had not clear idea about emerging technology...but now i know what are the emerging technology.

What is Emerging technology?

Sharing economy is an umbrella term with a range of meanings, often used to describe economic activity involving online transactions.

Originally growing out of the open-source community to refer to peer-to-peer based sharing of access to goods and services,the term is now sometimes used in a broader sense to describe any sales transactions that are done via online market places, even ones that are business to business , rather than peer-to-peer.

Quantum computing is computing using quantum-mechanical phenomena, such as superposition and entanglement

How to face to an interview in 04 steps.

 Face to an interview is not a hard thing to do if you can follow these easy steps.

 Step 01. 

Introduce yourself with confidence The first and foremost thing you have to do is is to face the interview with a good confidence. Don't make your self anxious when you walk into the room, stand tall, make eye contact , put a smile on your face and give your interviewers a firm, confident handshake when you introduce yourself.

Step 02.

 Prepare to answer common questions Even though you are face to any kind of interview there are some certain questions that many interviewers commonly ask. Therefore it is good to prepare answer for those questions . Eg. What are your weaknesses? What are your strengths?

Step 03.

 Prepare to ask at least two questions In some interviews your potential employers will ask if you have any questions you want to ask them. If you smile and say that you have no questions that makes it look like you don't care about the position all that much so you should prepare at least few questions and ask more related questions.

Step 04. 

Prepare to bring all you need Prepare all the stuffs you need for the interview that day before you go to the interview. Don't forget to bring your resume and cover letter to use as a reference also other additional materials that you think will be needed.

Story making

First  we were divided  in to three groups .each group there were nearly about 5 members.then miss gave one marker pen for each group and she told us to make a story.then one by one went to the board and he or she has to write a word on the board to make the story.it is difficult to make the story  because we did not know what is the word or what is the story before.there were 4 rounds for one member in each group.at last we got a story without a meaning but with a joyful story.......

we learnt from that session  there should be a good communication within team members.also there should be team spirit when we engage in team work.

Paper Rockets

First  we were divided  in to two groups then for each of our groups equal number of A4 sheets were given 6 A4 sheets per one group.

then there were two lines which was marked and what we have to do was we had to make paper rockets as much as we can which they can fly pass thought those marked line.

In our team we made 36 paper rockets and nearly all of them flyed passed through those line.

From this activity we learned so many things like to get the maximum use of what we had to reach our target and taking the use of every piece, thing we had  making paper rockets fly through the line.team spirit ,punctuality & so on.
